Right-Of-Way ProgramWarren RECC maintains over 5,700 miles of power lines to serve our members. The rapid growth of trees and other vegetation can interfere with the flow of electricity or prevent access to lines. That is why we must keep rights-of-way clear of obstructions. The power lines that bring electricity to your business or industry are not insulated. When trees or other obstructions become tangled in these lines, power outages and unsafe conditions can occur. If you notice tree limbs touching the lines, contact Warren RECC. What happens when a tree makes contact with an overhead power line? 1. Electricity will flow through the tree into the ground. This can be hazardous, as well as wasteful and costly. 2. Power outages can result, affecting homes and businesses in the area. 3. The power line can be severely damaged by blowing or falling tree limbs. You can now see why we keep the power lines clear of trees and undergrowth by using contract right-of-way crews and heavy-duty Klear-All tractors.
TRADE-A-TREE PROGRAMIf Warren RECC must remove a tree growing in a primary power line, members are offered free replacement trees through our Trade-A-Tree Program. To learn more about this program, call our office at 270-842-6541, Ext. 1106.
