May 17, 2025 (Bowling Green, KY) 3:30 p.m. Warren RECC staff and crews continue to work to fully restore power to our members. As of 3:30 p.m. CDT, we have approximately 5,600 members without power, from a high of 24,300 after last night’s storms. At this time, we have 210 separate outages and are working on or have already replaced 27 of the 51 broken poles identified since the storm began.
Contract crews began arriving overnight and continued to arrive throughout the day. We are expecting a total of 26 crews from Tennessee, Georgia, and Kentucky to help us restore power. The additional help will allow us to cover more ground quickly and efficiently. We are currently working around the clock to get power restored as soon as possible. However, restoration of this magnitude does take time, and we are still estimating a multi-day restoration event.
We would like to remind everyone to avoid work areas. We want to keep everyone as safe as possible during our restoration efforts.
We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. Please remember to stay away from downed power lines. If you see a downed power line, please report it to one of our outage lines: In Warren County call 270-843-9710. Outside Warren County, call 1-888-604-4321.
