June 26, 2023 (Bowling Green, KY) Last night’s severe thunderstorm caused widespread power outages. Strong winds caused numerous broken poles and downed power lines, including transmission lines, throughout the Warren RECC territory. As of 8:00 a.m. CST, we have approximately 16,500 members without power. At the height of the storm last night, we had approximately 27,000 members without power.
Crews worked through the night to assess damage and begin the restoration process. They will continue to work until all outages are restored. We have requested additional assistance from contract crews and other electric utilities. Based on our early assessment, we expect this to be a multi-day restoration event, and we request patience.
