June 29, 2023 (Bowling Green, KY) 9:30 a.m. Overnight, Warren RECC staff and crews continued to work alongside visiting crews to restore power to our members. As of 9:30 a.m., we have restored power to 97% of our members.

We continue to ask for patience as we restore the remaining areas. According to the National Weather Service, Edmonson, Grayson, and parts of Warren counties sustained winds of over 100 mph during Sunday’s storms, creating what they call a “macroburst”. Those areas sustained significant damage and are challenging. We are making all possible efforts to restore all power.

If you are in area where restoration efforts are continuing, please remember to stay clear of work areas. Following a storm, debris and broken/fallen tree limbs can pose numerous risks. Downed or low hanging lines can still be energized and deadly. Aside from the risk of serious injury to you, spectators can divert a lineman’s attention from their current task. When working with high voltage wires, linemen must be able to focus their thoughts on what they are doing. It could literally be a matter of life and death.

We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. Please remember to stay away from downed power lines. If you see a downed power line, please report it to one of our outage lines: In Warren County call 270-843-9710. Outside Warren County, call 1-888-604-4321.
